LIFE IS ABOUT PRACTICE AND EXPERIENCES

I started photography when I was 8 years old and fell in love with it. Although, my first results left a lot to be desired. Started with a film SLR Praktika camera and used it for over 20 years. In 2005 I purchased my first second hand digital SLR Canon EOS 10D, which I upgraded in 2010 to a Canon EOS 50D. I spent most of my time in Africa, shooting wildlife and nature with the 10D and 50D.

In 2019 I finally upgraded my camera to a full frame Canon EOS R. And it made a real difference to me. My pictures are sharper and richer due the dynamic range and now I get most out of my full frame Canon L Serie lenses.

But it is not all about the camera. Due de last 15 years I followed several courses in Photography and practice a lot in wildlife, nature, landscapes, architecture, portraits and product shoots. I like them all, but my main themes are landscape, nature and wildlife.

Career besides being a photographer

25+ years ago I started as a technician for a software house implementing editorial and advertising systems at media companies. Due that time I have done many things configuring image banks, setting up page layouts for newspapers and magazines and doing stuff with fonts splitting.

After a period of 12,5 years I decided to change my job, and worked for a year as a projectmanager for a Software house were we build and support Stock Agencies with an image bank solution.

The last 13,5 years a work for the national government as a senior productmanager for an Enterprise Search and Document Management System, we provide as a service to governmental organisaties.

Private life

In my spare private life I like to go on hike with my camera and do some cycling. In the weekend evenings I spent some hours on the salsa dance floor improving my dancing moves and have some fun with friends.
